New DCS Grills are Here and Curto's Has the First Pics
After at least a decade, DCS has completely revamped their outdoor grills and they may have just set a new bar for the competition to meet.
I have a very detailed post on the new DCS grills that I wrote on my other blog, so I'lll use this entry as a top line introduction. First of all, let's get to some eye candy.
This is the 48" grill, model number BE1-48-RC. I believe the price on the grill head is $5499.
The new grills have 4 main differences or upgrades from the prior series.
- LIGHTS - the grills now have lights in the canopy as well as behind the knobs.
- LIGHTER HOOD - the hood now uses a spring assist system which lightens the load considerably, particularly on the 48"
- SECONDARY COOKING SURFACE - mult-level, moveable shelves which creates 4 different spaces to cook in
- CHARCOAL SMOKER INSERT - the game changer! you can finally cook with wood or lump charcoal
And the things that were great about the original DCS grills - dual-sided grates, grease management system, full-surface searing are STILL AVAILABLE.
There are 2 sizes of grills - the 36" and 48".
Here is a pic of the solid fuel insert:
